CAPABILITIES
Creating the Optimal Air Environment for Every Vessel
As a member of the Daikin Group, a global leader in air conditioning, Daikin MR Engineering provides specialized engineering solutions for marine HVAC and refrigeration systems.
We support a wide range of vessel types and deliver solutions designed to create the optimal air environment for each ship.
Engineering Excellence: Proposal, Design, and Installation
We believe true engineering strength lies in the integration of proposal, design, and installation.
- Proposal:
- Understanding our customers’ challenges and requirements, and providing the most suitable solutions.
- Design:
- Developing optimized systems that effectively address each customer’s needs.
- Installation:
- Bringing marine HVAC and refrigeration systems to life on board—accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
We have built an extensive track record across a diverse range of vessel types and sizes. Centering our solutions on Daikin products, we provide optimal air conditioning systems based on our comprehensive capabilities in proposal, design, and installation. With our accumulated expertise and reliable technology, we deliver solutions that ensure sincere customer satisfaction.

Design, Fabrication, and Installation of Marine Ducts
We go beyond simply installing HVAC and refrigeration systems. We provide comprehensive design, fabrication, and installation of marine ducts to maximize system efficiency. Few companies can offer all these services under one roof, making us a rare and capable partner. This integrated approach enhances equipment performance, reduces installation issues, and lowers maintenance effort and costs.
3D Modeling
In our duct design, we leverage 3D CAD to create three-dimensional models, efficiently generating drawings while calculating duct pressure losses and local pressure drops.
Heat Load Calculation
For thermal load calculations, we use our proprietary software. To accommodate various design conditions, we continuously refine and improve the tool, enabling high-precision and efficient calculations backed by our extensive experience and expertise.
Proposal, Design, and Installation Backed by Daikin Group R&D
As part of the Daikin Group, a global leader in air conditioning, we leverage its extensive research and development to deliver optimal solutions across all stages of proposal, design, and installation:

Heat Pump Deck Unit
An integrated central air-conditioning unit that operates on shore power without using steam. It eliminates the need to run the boiler while docked and delivers superior energy efficiency compared to conventional steam or electric heaters.
42% Energy Savings [Fuel Consumption Comparison: Heavy Fuel Oil] ※ Based on in-house research
Difference in Fuel Consumption = A - B
A = Fuel consumption using steam heat source (required heating steam) + Generator fuel consumption (AC unit fan)
B = Generator fuel consumption (Heat pump operation)

Sustainable Refrigerant Solutions
Leveraging the Daikin Group’s technology, we provide comprehensive support from the development of new refrigerants and equipment to installation and maintenance. Focusing on environmental compliance, we propose low-GWP refrigerants and systems, applying advanced expertise and installation skills to help reduce the environmental impact of ships.
R407H Refrigerant
A low-GWP refrigerant that limits Global Warming Potential (GWP) to 1,495 ※ while maintaining the safety, stability, and efficiency required for marine applications. We offer R407H specifications for major equipment, including deck units, air conditioners, and refrigeration units.
- IPCC AR4, 100-year GWP: 1,495 (R407H). As per METI/MOE Notice No. 3 (Official Gazette Extra Edition No. 68, 2023): 1,500 (R407H).
Cost Performance Including Maintenance
We provide comprehensive support not only for new vessels but also through regular inspections and after-sales maintenance, helping prevent breakdowns and operational issues. This ensures that installed HVAC and refrigeration systems remain reliable and stable over the long term. Considering both initial investment and ongoing operating costs, our solutions offer excellent cost performance and added value.
Net-Zero GHG Emissions by 2050: Leading Environmental Initiatives
The Daikin Group aims for net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, based on its Environmental Vision 2050. To achieve this, we provide timely guidance on regulatory changes and offer retrofit solutions, including the adoption of new refrigerants and high-efficiency, energy-saving HVAC systems. These initiatives help reduce emissions throughout the product lifecycle.
